Military Tech Show: The Pilots Who Can See Through Their Planes
In multi-million pound fighter jets pilots are looking for any advantage they can get in air-to-air combat.
BAE think their Striker II Helmet could give it to them.
The helmet incorporates cutting-edge technology that allows pilots to see at night without night-vision goggles and even through their own planes.
And despite the technology incorporated, BAE's Mark Applegate insists it is:
"One of the strongest helmets in the world."
Forces TV was given to special access to BAE's Rochester development facility, where we saw it tested in a machine called the Thermotron. That can test its strength up to 6G and in a range of temperatures, from +70 Celcius to -40 Celcius.
From 11th April the Military Tech Show is on Forces TV on Mondays at 7:30pm, Tuesdays at 1:30pm and Saturday lunchtimes at 12:15pm for two weeks.
